Lake Erie Dental
World Class Cosmetic & Implant Dentistry

Technology around us changes on an almost daily basis, and dental technology is no different. Erie, PA dentist Dr. Kevin Sambuchino prides himself on taking advantage of the latest in cutting-edge technology to make treatment more efficient and more comfortable for patients.

Here’s some of what you can expect when you visit our modern dental office.

3-D Cone-Beam CT Scan

This technology enables us to take crystal-clear, three-dimensional images beyond what can be taken by a regular dental x-ray. With 3-D cone-beam CT scans, Dr. Sambuchino can get a three-dimensional view of your teeth, tissues, nerves, and bones—all in one shot.

Treatment planning has never been so accurate!

Laser Dentistry

Periodontal disease can be treated successfully, especially when it is caught in its earliest stages. With periodontal laser therapy, the need for surgery is often eliminated and recovery times are typically much quicker.

3-D Printed Invisible Braces

Because we create these braces in-house on a high-tech 3-D printer, you save money! The middleman has been eliminated.

You also save time by receiving treatment faster since your impressions do not need to be sent to an outside laboratory. These braces use Invisalign-style technology—without the expensive brand name.

Nitrous Oxide

If you have anxiety about going to the dentist, you are not alone. We offer nitrous oxide as a safe, effective way to ensure you are completely relaxed during treatment. Breathed in through a mask similar to oxygen, nitrous enters and leaves the system quickly so you are able to drive yourself home after treatment.

Panoramic X-Rays

Adding another element to the perspective provided by digital x-rays and intraoral cameras, the panoramic x-ray provides a flat image of the mouth that can be reviewed in one shot. It shows the entire mouth, jaw joints, and nasal and sinus cavities.

Digital Records

We are pleased to offer our patients the convenience and security of all-digital records. By not using paper records, we are protecting your information from theft, fire, and natural disasters. Misreading someone’s handwriting is also no longer a concern, so you can count on your records being more accurate. Digital records are easy to send electronically to your insurance company so there are fewer delays with treatment.

Digital X-Rays

This breakthrough in dental technology has been around for a while, and digital x-rays surpass traditional film x-rays in terms of speed, accuracy, and safety. They can easily be enlarged right on screen, enabling Dr. Sambuchino to see problems while they are still miniscule—and more easily treated. Digital x-rays scans are also easy to share with your insurance company.

Digital Sensors

Digital radiography provides a high-resolution view of the mouth so even the smallest issue can be spotted and treated. With digital sensors, we are able to get an image right the first time, which means less time in the dental chair during the x-ray process.

Intraoral Camera

Digital x-rays are essential, but there are still areas of your mouth that cannot be seen with x-rays alone. This is where the intraoral camera comes in. This tiny machine, no bigger than a dental mirror, lets us see the hidden areas of your mouth, giving us a precise image. While the camera is in use, you can also watch along on the monitor in real time, enabling us to better explain recommended treatment.

Rotary Endodontics

Nobody wants to hear that they need a root canal, but the truth is, they are not much worse than getting a garden-variety filling. With rotary endodontics, root canal therapy is faster than ever—with no unpleasant noises. Treatment is more comfortable for patients, and the instruments enable Dr. Sambuchino to be more precise.

Televisions and Headphones

We want your time in the dental chair to be relaxing and comfortable, so we have provided televisions and headphones in all the treatment rooms. Watching your favorite program or listening to your favorite music will help the time pass quickly.
