Your First Visit
For most people, your first appointment at Lake Erie dental will consist of an examination and a cleaning. We may also want to take x-rays—particularly if it’s been a while since you last had them.
If you have been referred to us by your physician or another practice, we will also take a look at your treatment options. If treatment cannot be performed the same day, we will put you on the schedule.
Please do not send your children under the age of 18 to their appointment alone. They must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
What to Bring to Your First Appointment
When you come in for your first appointment, bring along the following information will help expedite the treatment process:
- If you have had x-rays taken by another dentist, you can arrange for those to be sent directly to our office. If there isn’t enough time, you can probably stop by and pick them up and bring them along to your appointment. We may require additional x-rays, which we will take at our office.
- If you are taking any medications, please bring a list of all; include the name of the medication as well as the dosage amount.
- If you have dental insurance, bring in your insurance card and any necessary forms so we can file your claim and avoid possible delays.
- If you have any medical conditions, be sure to make us aware of those. Please also let us know if you have any allergies.
Amenities You’ll Find in Our Office
We know most people don’t enjoy going to the dentist, so we have created a spa-like atmosphere in our office to make the experience as positive as possible. We think you’ll enjoy our massaging dental chairs, headphones, and televisions with remotes in each treatment area.
If you have a lot of anxiety about seeing the dentist or if you are nervous about treatment, we also offer nitrous oxide. Also referred to as “laughing gas,” nitrous oxide can make you feel relaxed during treatment, and its effects leave the body immediately so that you can drive yourself home afterward.
We don’t want concerns about paying for treatment to keep you from getting the care you need, so we offer a number of payment options. If you have dental insurance, rest assured that our team knows how to make sure you get the most out of your benefits.
We take cash, check, and most major credit cards, as well as CareCredit. We also offer an in-house financing option.
